DD BUSINESS: DONEGAL RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY WINS TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

first_imgLocal Donegal Renewable company Daigon picked up the prestigious Brecan Mooney award at the SEAI Energy show in Dublin. This award was presented by John Burgess of the Geothermal Association of Ireland and was for Daigon’s entry of Kelly’s Toyota car showroom in Mountcharles.Their entry was for a geothermal heat pump system they installed in Kelly’s in 2007 which heats and cools the entire building all year round without any use of oil or gas. Energy monitoring was conducted and recorded and presented to the adjudicator panel proving running costs with a saving of over €6,000 per year since first installed.Daigon also received a Special Merit award for a home they installed with the same system in Dunlewey. The home owner Frank Duffy installed this system into his home when he constructed it in 2011 and has enjoyed year round heat and hot water for a fraction of what it would have been if the house was heated by a traditional oil boiler. The Brecan Mooney award is a 2 yearly all Ireland competition run by the Geothermal Association of Ireland and is open to all geothermal companies nationwide. The award is in memory of Brecan Mooney who lost his life in a tragic accident in 2009 and was a founding member of the Geothermal Association. DD BUSINESS: DONEGAL RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY WINS TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS was last modified: April 9th, 2016 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more
