Police looking for man suspected in attack

first_img Police are asking the public for help in finding a Portland man who is suspected of attacking his estranged wife at a hotel in mid-December.On Dec. 17, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were called to a disturbance at the Shilo Inn on Southwest Canyon Road in Portland.Aaron Bryce Griffin, 34, came to the hotel looking for his estranged wife, 31, and her male companion, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The release said he used a crowbar tool to try and get into the hotel room through the hallway door. Unable to open that door, the suspect went to an outside door, where he also couldn’t break through. After smashing out a window with the crowbar, he entered the hotel room.Griffin attacked his estranged wife and her companion with the heavy steel crowbar, the release said. The companion escaped, but Griffin dragged his wife by the neck out of her hotel room, authorities said. A bystander who heard the commotion and saw a suspect dragging the woman along the pavement outside, said Griffin tried to force her into his car, the release said.The release said while Griffin struggled with his wife, they fell to the ground. The bystander grabbed the suspect and held him down while the woman ran back to the hotel. He then let the suspect back up. The suspect then got into a green 2003 Dodge Durango and drove away.
