To earn honorable mention, a student-athlete must appear on at least 25 percent of ballots. FRISCO, Texas – Central Arkansas sophomore Zachary Jewell and McNeese senior John Lemke are the Southland Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Southland Athletes of the Week are presented by Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – John Lemke, McNeese – Sr. – Lake Charles, La.Lemke scored 20 points in Saturday’s Cowboy Relays, taking first place in the triple jump (48-05.25) and was second overall in the long jump (23-09.5) while finishing as the top collegiate competitor. The Cowboys finished first as a team out of 15. Honorable Mention: Kie’Ave Harry, Northwestern State; Cliff Resias, Southeastern Louisiana; Enrique Soto, McNeese. UCA next heads to Memphis, Tenn., this weekend for the Rhodes College Invitational while McNeese travels to UL Lafayette’s Louisiana Classics. Both competitions take place Friday and Saturday.
