Hope the city has a plan for baseball field

first_imgOn Oct. 10 I had an opportunity to address the Schenectady City Council with regards to the mayor’s proposed capital budget. Categories: Letters to the Editor, Opinion More specifically, I addressed the $600,000 being invested in the Central Park A Diamond — as I learned that night, also known as Buck Ewing Field.The mayor and council members John Polimeni and Vince Riggi noted it’s an investment in America’s pastime, a source of revenue and part of the bigger picture.OK. But who’s going to maintain the new artificial turf field, schedule the tournaments and make sure this field doesn’t meet the same fate as its predecessor? Volunteers?
